Eddie Hughes

Having started his professional life as a civil engineer, Eddie's journey through the housing sector has included managing housing development and maintenance, chairing the board of a housing association and serving as a Housing Minister in Government.

More recently, he has been supporting the Church of England with its housing development ambitions and serving as an advisory board member for The Housing Network - the largest provider to the Ministry of Justice of accommodation for those who would otherwise be homeless at the point of discharge from prison.

As a judge for the People in Housing Awards, Eddie brings a wealth of knowledge, a keen eye for innovation, and a dedication to ensuring the best outcomes for tenants and communities alike. His experience will be invaluable in evaluating the outstanding contributions made by housing teams across the Midlands.
