Emma Richman

Emma Richman is an award-winning housing professional with a career spanning almost 30 years. She is about to join Muir Housing Group as Executive Director of Homes and also serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director at First Choice Homes Oldham.

Emma is a qualified Architect and Building Surveyor, bringing a rare combination of technical expertise and strategic leadership to her work. She is currently a Board Member of Manchester Women’s Aid, including the Pankhurst Trust, and is the National Chair of Women in Property. Emma also sits on several National Housing Federation committees focused on the quality of existing homes and building safety.

Her achievements have been widely recognised across the sector, including being named Woman of the Year at the 2018 Women in Housing Awards.

With her depth of experience, sector influence, and long-standing commitment to improving homes, safety and opportunities across housing, Emma brings invaluable insight to the judging panel. Her balanced perspective — spanning technical, strategic, operational and community-focused work, makes her an exceptional judge for the People in Housing Awards.
