Building safety is the foundation everything else in housing sits on. This award recognises Midlands organisations going beyond the minimum, embedding compliance into how they work and finding smarter ways to keep residents safe.

Judges will be looking for: Strong, demonstrable compliance with building safety regulations and standards, proactive approaches to safety rather than reactive fixes, a culture of safety that runs through the whole organisation, and clear outcomes for residents, including safer homes and greater confidence in them.

Who can enter: Housing associations, local authorities, contractors and sector bodies responsible for building safety and compliance.

Your Approach: Describe your approach to keeping residents and their homes safe, including the key areas of building safety and compliance covered.

Managing Risk: Explain how risks are identified, prioritised and acted on before they escalate, including the systems, data, inspections or frontline insight used to support this.

Governance: Describe how responsibility for building safety and compliance is managed across your organisation, including governance, monitoring and escalation.

Improvements: Explain any new processes, technology, learning or ways of working introduced over the past 12 months to strengthen building safety and compliance.

Evidence of Impact: Provide measurable evidence of improvements achieved, including compliance performance, risk reduction, response times or other KPIs, and explain how this has made residents safer or more confident in their homes.
